How to Get A Chance to Interview the Best Bloggers?

August 26, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

Bloggers Interview often give more visibility, likes, shares, and comments – albeit you’ve got a fresh blog, once you interview a top blogger in your niche, you’ll definitely get more traffic or page views.

Considering my own blog as an example, an Interview with the top female blogger “Ileane Smith” stood out as the most commented post on my blog (with a whooping sum of 140+ comments). So it is clear that interviews are golden.

There are 3 types of bloggers whom you can interview to get more momentum with your blogs.

  1. Top bloggers (A list bloggers)
  2. Raising bloggers (B list)
  3. Your blogging buddies

Undoubtedly you will get the BEST results when you interview someone like Darren Rowse. But it’s almost impossible to get a chance to interview the super busy bloggers like him. Then how can you make them accept?

Keep on reading.

How to interview the top bloggers in your niche?

Step 1: Make a list of bloggers whom you want to interview

First of all, try to find out the list of bloggers to whom you want interview. Without having a ‘list of targeted bloggers’, it becomes very hard to keep up the momentum with the interview series.

Know which category (1, 2 or 3??) bloggers you want to interview? Once you are ready with the list, find out their interests and know where they spend most of their time online.

Pro tip: Keep a list of 10 to 15 bloggers at a time to NEVER get run out of interview series ideas.

Step 2: Get in touch with them

So.. now you are ready with the list of bloggers, now it’s your turn to find out the ways to get in touch with these bloggers. There are two ways to get in touch with the bloggers whom you want to interview.

  • Find out their email addresses (you can either use Google search engine or their blog contact pages)
  • Follow them on twitter

Twitter is becoming more and more popular, so I strongly suggest you to follow your targeted bloggers on twitter, share their contents, and be in touch with them regularly to stay within their radars.

Once they know you are following for a while and you are helping them to boost their online visibility, they will be very much interested in returning the favor to you sooner or later.

It’s why you should be spending quality time on social media (especially twitter) to get the most out of your online businesses. Without letting others know about your blogs, it’s almost impossible to survive in the blogosphere.

Step 3: Ask

Once you have the list and contact addresses, simply ASK them for the interview.

Most people don’t get any thing just because they don’t ask.

Sure, sometimes you won’t get any response or a negative response – but it’s all common. 95% of the bloggers are very friendly (believe me), they won’t reject if they get a chance to spread their blog’s name.

So simply ask them for the interview, tell them that you are interested in conducting their interview.

Bonus step 1: Skim through their previous interviews

This is a must. Why?

If you want to take a quantum leap with your interview series, don’t ask generic questions. If you already have read their interviews, try asking unique questions that add value to your readers. It’s how you can provide massive value to your blogs in the long run.

Bonus step 2: Spend time and energy into making your interviews go viral

You shouldn’t take a break after hitting the publish button, work hard to promote the interview posts to get more online reach.

Use social media sites like FB, twitter etc. to get immediate response, most bloggers love to read interview posts (including me), because interviews often give great value within less time.

In a nutshell: Always make sure to add value to the interview series, don’t ask generic questions, and give some time to respond to your emails because most bloggers are busy. And promote the heck out of them to get a wider reach.
