How to Run Blog Contest: 5 Incredible Tips

September 4, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

Run Blog Contests – Have you been worrying why your blog is not still taking off even if you are working really hard?

Have you ever thought you can bring so much traffic, likes, links, comments, and subscribers just by running regular blog contests?

Yes, running blog contests is one of the best ways to take your blog to the next level.

If you are really serious about making money from your blogging efforts, you must invest the money first. After all, blogging is a business – not fun!

And the best way to invest some money on your blog development is to run blog contests – also known as giveaways.

There are many bloggers who took their blogs to another level by using the simple tactic called blog contests. If you are thinking to start a blog contest and not sure how to do it effectively – this article is for you!

Let’s jump into the details without any ado.

How to run awesome blog contests on your blogs?

Before you are thinking to run a blog contest, ask yourself these 3 questions.

  1. What is your primary goal? Ex: Do you want more comments, subscribers or likes on your FB page?
  2. What is your secondary goal? Ex: Do you want people to share your posts, buy your stuff or anything else?
  3. How much money you want to put in the basket? Pro tip: Don’t invest too much money in the beginning itself.

Start small

Start so small that even if you don’t meet your primary or secondary goals with your blog contests – you shouldn’t be worry about it. Most people invest a lot of money without thinking their primary objectives.

My tip is to start really small. You can start off by giving away something like

  • Themes
  • Plugins
  • Cash prizes
  • Tools
  • Software
  • Videos and anything that comes to your mind (but make sure your offer adds value to YOUR readers)

Make it clear to your participants and keep it simple

If you want to run a successful blog contest, you need to give some rules to your participants.

And make them as clear and simple as possible.

  • What do they have to do to enter into your blog contests?
  • Clearly mention how can they maximize their chances of winning your blog contents?
  • Do they have to stay active daily or just once?
  • How many days, weeks or months your blog contest runs? When can they expect the results?

Pro tip: You need to set a start and end date and make it clearly visible in your blogs.

To run blog contests, you need proper tools

My personal favorite tools to run blog contests are

  • Raffle Copter and
  • Punch Tab

They are REALLY awesome tools to run contests on your blog successfully and most of all they are FREE.

Approach sponsors and ask other bloggers to run blog contests jointly

Let me make it clear. No one will be interested in providing funds for running blog contests on your websites when you are new to blogging.

So you have to put some money at least in the beginning and until you gain some loyal readership around your blogs.

Then only you can consider asking others to sponsor contests on your blogs.

You can also ask your fellow bloggers (and return them favors by linking to their pages or blogs) to get some money to run blog contests on your blog successfully.

Write a blog post about your contest and make it go viral

This is a must. You need to shout out about your blog contests.

And use the post as a way to showcase your blog contest rules and regulations. Clearly mention what your objectives are.

Ask your participants to share the specific blog post in social media sites like Facebook, twitter, G+ etc. and provide they some rewards for doing so.

Also Read: Top 7 WordPress Plugins to Increase Your Blog Traffic

If possible try to promote your post and spend some money on referral traffic like Facebook ads or twitter sponsors to make your blog post go viral, this way you will be able to reach a wider audience.

The more the reach, the better the results.

Last but not least – tell them clearly how will you decide the WINNER

There are many ways to decide the final winner, either you can choose them randomly using randomizer.org or you can decide on their performance (the more likes they get the more the chances of winning the contest). The final choice is yours.

Stop Making These 5 Blogging Mistakes to becoming

September 1, 2020 by admin 1 Comment

Blogging mistakes – they’re golden nuggets if you learn from them.
“Every professional blogger was once a newbie” and everybody makes blogging mistakes regardless of what.

Your success ratio depends on how you see the opportunities even on your difficulties. You can’t achieve blogging without making a few blogging mistakes, after all, we all aren’t bloggers by birth.

However, it’s a stupid thing to repeat the same blogging mistakes again and again. Whenever I stumbled upon new sites, I saw so many blogging blunders that could turn off the readers’ minds.

Here are few costly blog mistakes to avoid to become a better blogger.

Avoid Top 5 Blogging Mistakes

#1. Stop checking stats

Seriously stop checking stats once in an hour. What’s the use of checking your traffic spikes when you don’t get enough attention?

Yes, I agree, most new bloggers love checking their traffic stats every now and then, even 10 new visits a day can bring lots of smile on their faces, agree?

Stop Making These 5 Blogging Mistakes to becoming

But here’s the catch – instead of wasting your precious time on checking stats, start creating content, blog post ideas or connect with other bloggers using social media sites – it will bring better results in the long run.

#2. Coming up with only one headline

Do you know the ONE top secret to getting more traffic without actually doing NOTHING?

It is tweaking your headlines.

Hell yea, you will definitely attract more leads and clicks on the blog posts which have compelling headlines.

Try to change your headlines if they are not catchy, learn the art of writing great headlines. If you want to always come up with great titles, here’s my suggestion – try to come up at least with 3 to 4 headline samples for each and every post you write.

This is the most effective way of writing noticeable headlines in less time. Choose the best headline among them, try to spend some time in writing compelling titles. It’s worth of your time and energy in the future of your blogging career.

#3. Avoid inconsistency

Most people posts a lot of articles when they are new to blogging – it’s majorly because of the more enthusiasm in the beginning.

When they don’t see the desired results after few months, they slowly get diverted and they don’t publish at all! This is where you have to be patient and remember that “consistency” is the key to blogging success. So, if you want to be a better blogger, avoid one of the biggest blogging mistakes – inconsistent in posting schedule.

First, find out proper posting schedule, even if you are posting twice or thrice a week, it’s fine but just stick to the posting schedule and be consistent to deliver high quality contents to your audience, that’s how great blogs are built.

#4. Avoid long paragraphs

One of the dumbest blogging mistakes to grab people’s attention is this: writing long chunks of content. No matter how great your content is, no one reads or understands what your meat is if you use long paragraphs.

Why?

Most online people love to skim the topics, instead of reading word to word. Here’s what to do to grab their attention.
  • Use sub heads
  • Bullet points
  • Make use of smart interlinking and
  • Use one appealing image per post

I don’t suggest you always to use shorter lines, but they work pretty well. So make sure to find out your own writing tone to cope up well with your blog audience.

#5. Slow loading sites

If there’s one reason I hate reading other blogs is this – slow loading times. Who wants to read a blog which takes ages to load?

Always make sure to give a better user experience by speeding up your site loading time.

Install w3 total cache, this is the best plugin to clear caches and to make your site loading time faster. And use less image spirits and don’t de clutter your blog design to make it look messy.

In a nutshell: Make blogging mistakes, but try to learn from them to build a better blog. Don’t waste your time by checking the traffic stats or comment count, spend time to create quality content instead.

5 Best Blog Design Mistakes to Avoid 2020

August 30, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

More importantly, Blog Design Mistakes are what keeps your readers reading your stuff.

If you would like to face out as a blogger, you want to have a singular Blog Design Mistakes. Appealing blog design not only boosts your online brand it also creates a knowledgeable tone on other bloggers.

That’s REALLY an excellent thanks to connect with first-time visitors.

Unfortunately, most blogs don’t care about their design of the blogs. But let me clarify one thing if you want to get most out of your blogging efforts – invest your time and money on creating an appealing design for your blogs.

5 Best Blog Design Mistakes to Avoid 2020
5 Best Blog Design Mistakes to Avoid 2020

Here’s the essential guide all you need to make your blog design look more appealing to bring the desired results. We will also go through the major blog design mistakes to avoid as a blogger.

Blog design mistakes to avoid at all costs

1. Cluttering sidebar: I observed so many blogs (around 1000′s of blogs), what I found is: most of them are cluttered very much especially in their sidebars. If used right, blog sidebar is one of the most effective places on any blog that makes or breaks any blog success.

Here are a few golden nuggets to implement if you want to get the most out of your Blog Design Mistakes.

  • Don’t use too many widgets on your sidebar
  • Display popular posts
  • Show recent comments in order to get more comments (especially if you have a new blog)
  • Use email optin forms at the top of the sidebar (this is a must!)
  • Don’t use tags in your sidebars
  • Don’t use unwanted ads (using less and prominent ads can boost your affiliate sales!)

2. Not having about/contact page: Have you ever read a popular blog without having an about or contact page? Without having these two pages, your blog design is missing a lot of conversion rates.

You don’t need to brag about yourself in the about page though, but you need to encourage your visitors to know what your site is all about.

And show them why should they read your blogs and why should consider subscribing or buying your stuff. If you don’t have convincing reasons, why should they bother reading your blogs? To find out how to stand out from other Blog Design Mistakes in your niche.

3. Worst font size/typography: No one reads a blog with a worst typography. Don’t use short font sizes that are too hard to read, most online readers love to read the posts which are easy to read and navigate.

Use proper font sizes, consider using 15 px font sizes on your blog design. Don’t use too large font sizes (it can also kill your blog readability!).

4. Slow loading sites: What if you land on a site that is taking to load too much time? I reckon no one stays on a blog which loads slower. One of the success factors that define any blog is “loading time”.

Try to keep your blog design as fast as possible, use fewer plugins, and try to install w3 total cache or super cache, this plugin can alone speed up your site loading times.

Don’t use CSS sprites, and use the best hosting services like HostGator or Blue Host to make your site loading time faster even when you have more traffic.

5. Forgetting the importance of white space: “Simple is sexy in blog design”. Most bloggers, especially the new bloggers don’t leave their blog design without cluttering. What happens when you use too much information on your blog design? It simply kills the readership and no one might be interested in reading your blog stuff again.

Try to use white space as much as possible. Have you ever observed great blogs like Zen Habits and Social triggers? They always give very much importance to white space on their blogs, that way they will be giving their readers more chances to focus on reading the stuff.

The fewer distractions you give, the more shares and links you get from your Blog Design Mistakes, it’s as simple as that!

When Should You Quit Blogging? 2020

August 22, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

Blogging success is very simple. – quit blogging

But it is not very easy for most people.

Why?

They don’t know what to do and differentiate themselves from the remaining crowd. It is why most bloggers fail.

If you are thinking about quitting blogging, this article is for you.

The most important question in blogging is – when to quit blogging?

It’s not so easy question to answer, but we will find out the reasons why bloggers have to quit at the right times and move on.

So when should you quit blogging?

Though there are many reasons to quit blogging, we will discuss the advanced reasons to quit blogging to save your energy, time and money.

When Should You Quit Blogging? 2020
When Should You Quit Blogging? 2020

If you don’t have passion

Seriously, you can’t build a profitable blog if you don’t have passion.

You will just work hard to get more traffic, bring more leads and use various monetization methods – they simply won’t work because you never cared about your readership or unique selling points.

How on earth can you make money without helping other bloggers to succeed?

I firmly believe that, “The money you create online is directly proportional to the amount of individuals you help”. So try to give your best to help the blogosphere in order to make money out of your blogging efforts.

There’s no other way to make money online, you must have a vision, skills and selling tactics to build a blog that makes money in the long run.

If you don’t love what you are writing

Ask yourself this question – am I loving the topics that I write on my blogs?

If not, it’s time to quit blogging and consider any other business or job. If you are willing to work hard and love the topics you write, you will never quit blogging even if you find hard times to make money.

I have few blogs where I worked so hard for over 2 years, yet I haven’t make even a penny from them, did I quit blogging?

No… I analyzed the things that went wrong, and I understood that few blogs don’t make quick money, they take some time to take off. Before thinking to quit blogging, you should take a note of it – analyze what’s going wrong, if you are consistent, you will definitely see ripe fruits.

If you don’t get any product sales or income

It becomes hard to run a blog that doesn’t get any sales or income even after working hard.

But understand the reasons – are you targeting the right keywords? Is your market is worth making money? What methods your competitors are using to make money out of their blogs?

If you tried and tested all of them and still unable to make any income from your blogs, then it’s time to quit!

If you don’t get traffic even after working hard

Traffic is lifeblood for any blog.

Without traffic, nobody knows that your blog exists.

Most new blogs don’t get much traffic because, no one links or talks about the sites. Try guest posting or blog commenting to get quality back links and get top results in the search engines.

When Should You Quit Blogging? 2020
When Should You Quit Blogging? 2020

Here are few surefire ways to bring traffic to any blog.

  • Blog commenting (try to comment on 10 to 20 blogs/day
  • Guest posting
  • Write SEO content
  • Make appealing blog design
  • Link to other articles

Even after working hard to bring traffic to your blogs if you don’t notice any growth – quit blogging.

Pro tip: Bringing traffic to new blogs takes a lot of time, I’m saying this strongly because I have built so many blogs and I never got huge traffic from day 1. Some blogs took even a year to get 1000 unique visits every day. So, persistence is the key, if you are not patient, you won’t succeed – simple as that!

Conclusion: Before thinking to quit blogging, make sure you have worked all the way to make your blog successful and you spent enough time to make it go viral.

Without bring attention, it is very hard to get noticed in the crowded blogosphere. Or if you simply lost interest, it’s always better to quit blogging and move on.

So what are your thoughts on quitting blogging? When should one quit blogging?
